Night Time Riding with An Addmotor Electric Bike

Night riding is a great way to fit your passion into a busy schedule.

With a well-lit bike, you can head out before dawn or after dusk when you are off work and will enjoy a wonderful escape from the scorching sun and crowded trails. It ensures your visibility to motorists and pedestrians and brings you great fun and a unique and exciting experience.

Here we’d like to introduce our EB2.0 Electrical Lighting System featured in Addmotor’s newest M-81 cargo e-bike and the E-43/E-53 CITYPRO e-bikes. Whether you are trying to stand out against a brightly lit urban backdrop or finding your way along dark roads, you (like every cyclist) need a reliable pair of bike lights. Our EB2.0 Electrical Lighting System offers good value and exceptional visibility.

How did we design this lighting system?

First of all, we prefer waterproof bike lights. You may not plan to ride in the rain, but surprise storms are called “surprises” for a reason, and they may cause a short circuit. As a result, all the materials we picked for this lighting system meet the IPX5 waterproof standard, which can improve safety and visibility when riding in the rain.

Secondly, we prefer a headlight with high output and wide-angle beams. When commuting or riding after dark, away from ambient light sources, a headlight with high output allows you to see well ahead of you. The headlight of this lighting system uses a MUC chip, which can supply a brightness of 40 lumens, a visible distance of 200m, and a 180° side view. The wide-range beams allow the riders to have a clear map of the road around them and protect them from accidents and dangers caused by blind spots. Its material and design conform to the K-mark optical principle and have passed the ISO6742-1 international standard certification.

Thirdly, a multi-function taillight would bring more convenience. A good taillight makes you visible to others in the dark and lets them know your intention. The 5-in-1 unique patented taillight adopts a MUC chip and combines ultrasonic welding technology and 21 optical principles. It provides additional lighting functions similar to motorcycles and automobiles, such as driving lights, left and right turn signals, danger lights, flashing lights, brake lights, etc.

Last but not least, the system should be energy-saving. Will the batteries die mid-ride? This lighting system is powered directly by the EB2.0 20Ah battery which has a strong battery life, so there is no need to worry about whether it will die mid-ride. We adopted a full LED lighting system for energy-saving reasons. It can save 15% of energy consumption while providing a wide-angle lighting area. It can also produce huge amounts of lumens with impressive battery life and run times.

The darkness makes everything feel brand new and a lot more challenging. For those who usually ride at night, here are some suggestions for you:

1. Don't ride alone at night. If you must ride alone, inform someone when and where you're going, and when you expect to be back.
2. Set up your lights and go on a test ride around the neighborhood so you can adjust the beam angles, and power controls to make sure everything is secure.
3. Taking a helmet with LED lights with you would also be a good idea, it can provide extra observability, turn signals, hazard lights, and more.

Riding at night will be a completely different experience. Some riders may feel a little nervous in the dark, but some others may feel enjoyment when riding with the beautiful moon in the breeze. Anyways, we hope our EB2.0 electrical lighting system can be of assistance on your night journey.

Stay safe, and have fun!
